Enhanced Features, Refined Style: Welcome The New City Hatchback

Kuala Lumpur: Honda Malaysia (or the Company) today officially launched the New City Hatchback with an added Petrol option for its RS variant which completes the sporty hybrid & petrol offerings for this top selling hatchback model. With this introduction, the New City Hatchback now offers a total of five variants.

Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Hironobu Yoshimura said, “In the first quarter of 2024, we have achieved sales of more than 21,500 units which is an increase of 23% compared to first quarter of 2023. This positive achievement is a good start of the year for Honda. Today, we are excited to introduce the New City Hatchback. With more than 28,700 units of the City Hatchback on Malaysian roads since 2021, we are confident that this refreshed model will surpass customers' expectations. We are thrilled to offer customers a RS variant with petrol powertrain.”

The New City Hatchback has received enhancements and upgrades to its exterior, offering a more energetic, bold and sporty outlook with a newly designed Honeycomb Front Grille, Front Lower Grille, LED Front Fog Lights Garnish and Rear Bumper Lower Garnish. New Berlina Black 16-inch Alloy Wheels and a new edgy-looking Side Sill Garnish further elevate the sporty appeal of both RS variants. The Petrol RS and e:HEV RS variants of the New City Hatchback is now longer with refreshed exterior design measuring 4,369mm in length while the S, E and V variants are 4,350 mm in length.

In developing all new models, Honda remains steadfast in its commitment to fuel efficiency and performance. The New City Hatchback hybrid is powered by the 1.5L e:HEV powertrain producing 109PS and 253Nm of torque, dominating torque performance in its class. The e:HEV RS variant is fitted with Deceleration Selector Paddle that enables the driver to engage on the paddles for power regeneration and to decelerate the vehicle. On the other hand, the petrol variant is equipped with 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC delivering 121PS of maximum output and 145Nm of torque. The Paddle Shift now comes standard in all Petrol variants, offering a fun and engaging drive.

The interior of the New City Hatchback has received a stylish upgrade. The RS variants now feature a striking red-painted dashboard panel and sporty Combi Leather seats with eye-catching red stitching. Both Petrol RS and e:HEV RS are fitted with 8” Display Audio with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto Wireless Connectivity, in addition to 7” TFT Meter Cluster. The New City Hatchback continues to excel in practicality and spaciousness, thanks to the ULTRA Seat, which comes standard across all variants.

The New City Hatchback is equipped with Honda SENSING as a standard safety feature for all variants, now including the Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN). The complete list of Honda SENSING features in the New City Hatchback includes:

All variants are equipped with safety features such as six airbags and Walk Away Auto Lock. The Multi-Angle Reverse Camera with Hi-Resolution are fitted in all variants except for S variant. Additionally, the V and RS variants are also equipped with Honda LaneWatch to enhance vision for blind spot. The New City Hatchback RS variants are equipped with smartphone application integration named Honda CONNECT for Safety, Security and Convenience. To provide further value, Honda CONNECT is now available as an optional accessory for S, E and V variants.
