Chu credits teamwork for two top awards

KOTA KINABALU: Renowned Sabah property developer, Jesselton Waterfront Holdings Sdn Bhd, via its subsidiary company, Jesselton Properties Sdn Bhd won, “The Borneo Star Award” at the StarProperty.my Awards Night 2019’ in Kuala Lumpur, recently.

The company won top place for “Best East Malaysia Development” for its upcoming condominium project, Jesselton Twin Towers in Damai here.

It also won “The Poseidon Award” for Best Waterfront Development via its subsidiary, Palikota Sdn Bhd for its completed Jesselton Residence condo project which was ranked as honours in the award. 

Jesselton Waterfront Holdings Sdn Bhd Executive Chairman Tan Sri David Chu received both awards in the fourth edition of the event that gathered Malaysia’s top developers to highlight and render national recognition to achievements of property developers in Malaysia as well as featuring a multitude of stellar projects by leading and reputable developers in the property industry.

Chu said this was the first time the company via its two subsidiaries won both important awards which showed the quality workmanship of both projects and showcased elegance in its planning, design and construction as well as strategic locations.

“I am very pleased with this achievement and honoured as the event featured more than 20 top developers with their best developments available in Malaysia.

“The success (of the company) is not a one-man show because the important thing is teamwork, the sharing of knowledge and having the most reputable contractors to complete our projects,” he told Daily Express, recently.

Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin officiated the event where the top honours of 20 award categories went to the best home builders and their exceptional developments.

On its imminent project of Jesselton Twin Towers, Chu said the 56-storey condominium is poised to be the tallest building in Borneo upon completion in four years’ time.

“Jesselton Twin Towers comprises two blocks with 819 high-end condominium units and comes with eight layout designs for buyers to choose from. It is located strategically at Jalan Bersatu in Damai, here and set to add value to the address at this prime real estate.

“Apart from living in a development that incorporates nature in design, residets will also get to enjoy stunning views of the bay and Mount Kinabalu as well as the golf course and sunset.

“Targeting expats and locals, this project boasts a design concept that intertwines nature and architecture. Aspects of nature that have been incorporate din the buildings design are land contours and topography, rainforest structure and canopy layers, stone and cave crystals as well as mountain peak and lighthouse,” he said.

Chu said the project also offers short stroll to urban amenities where the residents will be spoilt for choice when it comes to shopping and leisure outlets here such as City Mall, Imago Shopping Mall Jesselton Mall, and Suria Sabah Shopping Mall as well as education facilities including Sabah Tshung Tshin Secondary School, Sayfol International School, Kinabalu International School and University Malaysia Sabah (UMS).

He said residents will also be able to access first-class healthcare service at Queen Elizabeth Hospital II, KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital, and Damai Specialist Hospital, among others, which are located nearby the Jesselton Twin Towers.

With the recreational deck at Level 10 and Sky Facilities at levels 54 and 55, he said residents will experience luxurious lifestyle that enhances the quality of their daily lives. 

“Some of the facilities at the deck include 50m lap pool, Jacuzzi, pavilion, sauna and steam rooms, gymnasium, dance studio and lounge deck. 

“While the Sky Facilities comprise sky bar, sky café, sky garden, sky terrace, private lounge, private dining as well as lounge and library,” he said.

As for the completed Jesselton Residence which is a mixed development located between Jesselton Point and Suria Sabah shopping mall, Chu said the property development is the tallest waterfront building in the central business district of Kota Kinabalu, whereby more than 90 per cent of the units have sold out.

He said this sea-fronting residential units which made up of three towers that house 333 condominium units present its residents with a breath-taking sea views and seamlessly connected to a high-end premiums mall with 123 boutique retails lots in total, located on eth ground and first floor.
