Telcos support Minister's call for lower rates

Kuala Lumpur: Telecommunications companies (telcos) have expressed their support to Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek's call for lower rates to customers.In a statement, Celcom Axiata Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Datuk Seri Shazalli Ramly said it had introduced innovative and affordable plans such as the New Internet of Xpax, which offers non-stop Internet experience and allow customers to carry forward their unused Internet."The carry forward feature is especially unique and applies to all the new plans and Celcom is the first and only telco to introduce it in the country.

"Furthermore, since the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax, Celcom has been giving free minutes and text messages to its customers who reload RM5 and above," he added.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

In a separate statement, DiGi Telecommunications Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Eugene Teh said bringing affordable Internet access to all Malaysians was its top priority and it had announced packages and product bundles catering to price-conscious customers. Meanwhile, U Mobile CEO Wong Heang Tuck said the minister's suggestions echoed the company's proposition of offering the best value products to its customers at the most competitive rates. – Bernama
