Sumazau feat by 8,000 K'gau students

Keningau: Eight thousand students danced their way into the Malaysia Book of Records by performing the Sumazau non-stop for 30 minutes here, Saturday.The feat was a collaboration between the Keningau Education Office and Keningau District Council with students from Kuala Penyu, Sipitang, Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, Sandakan and Kudat taking part in the event as more than 3,000 people looked on.The record was the second achievement by Keningau after a non-stop gong beating event which also set a new record a few years ago.ADVERTISEMENT Officiating the event was Sook Assemblyman Datuk Ellron Alfred Angin who said the event is a perfect example of the spirit of unity among students who will one day be the nation's leaders.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

"Unity in our country is so precious because without it, it is very difficult for our nation to progress. Therefore, the BN government had initiated activities geared towards unity among our students. I hope parents will work together with the school administration in any way possible but most of all, when it comes to bringing our children together regardless of race and religion," he said.Also present were officers from the Malaysia Book of Records and District Officer Yusop Osman.
