Sports complex, cultural centre for Nabawan soon

Keningau: Nabawan will soon have its own sports complex and a cultural centre which would cost the government RM500,000.Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said during the tabling of the 11th Malaysian Plan by the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak recently, the government will allocate a large sum of money for the infrastructure development in the rural areas, especially in Pensianga, Nabawan and Sook."As leaders here, we have to show our commitment in carrying out our duties and responsibilities because the people had given us the mandate to listen and solve their problems.ADVERTISEMENT "Unlike the opposition who are always lying and giving empty promises, we in Barisan Nasional (BN) are sincere in executing our responsibilities always and not only when general election is near."Do not be like those who only go to visit their constituencies when it is election time," he said when officiating the 3-in-1 festival namely, Ka'amatan Festival, Kalimaran Festival and Panawari (Grand Tamu) Festival here, Saturday. Also present were Minister in the Prime Minister Department Tan Sri Joseph Kurup, Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Ellron Alfred Angin, Assistant Finance Minister Datuk Seri Michael Asang, Senator Lucas Umbul, Nabawan District Officer Fredian Gan, Tan Sri Sufian Koroh, PBRS Youth Exco Chief Arthur Kurup and Pensiangan Umno Division Chief Datuk Ghani Yassin. During the event, Musa also handed over communal grants for Kg Atulai (10,773 acres) to 479 families from 12 villages and communal grants for Seven-Nine (6,301 acres) for 301 families."The purpose of this communal grants is to prevent our own people from selling the lands for a temporary relief. We want the lands to be inherited by the next generations, for our children and our children's children."I know, our people are too nice. With only a little persuasion, they will sell their lands. Therefore, we come up with this communal grants so things like that will not happen," he said.
