Fapga 2015: Platform for M'sian digital industries

Selangor: The 15th Forum of Asia Pacific Graphic Arts (Fapga 2015) will be a good platform to promote Malaysia's digital industry especially print industry in Asia Pacific region.Deputy International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Lee Chee Leong said the Fapga 2015 would help to enhance capacity, capability and competency in Malaysia's creative industry to produce world-class content and make the country a regional hub for digital content.

"Even though the manual printing is getting less prominence, the industry is still growing with the help of advanced technology. The Fapga will help to boost the country's economy growth," he told reporters after officiating the media launch of Fapga 2015 here, Monday.

The Fapga 2015, to be held from August 7 to 9, is an international event that aims to gather all the stakeholders of Asia Pacific countries to discuss key issues pertaining to graphic arts and printing matters.

Meanwhile, Fapga 2015 Organising Chairman Liew Chee Khong believed more Asia Pacific countries will become a member of Fapga by taking part in the forum which formerly well known Forum of Asian Graphic Arts Technology (Fagat). – Bernama

"Fapga currently comprises 10 member countries, namely Japan, China, South Korea, Thailand, Philippines, Singapore, India, Sri Lanka, Australia and Malaysia," he said.

He said the forum was a gathering of print industries owners, leaders, foreign print and graphic arts industry experts from local and Asia Pacific countries who shared their recent findings in this 'Print Ecology' forum organised by Malaysian Printers Association.

The forum were held annually in each member countries on a rotation basis since its formation in 1996. This is the second time that MPA hosts the forum, the last forum was held in 2004. – Bernama
