Takaful Q1 pre-tax profit up to RM62.2m

Kuala Lumpur: Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Bhd's profit before zakat and taxation for the first quarter (Q1) ended March 31, 2015 rose 39.1 per cent to RM62.2 million from RM44.7 million registered in the same quarter last year."The higher profit is attributable to higher wakalah fee income and lower expense reserves," it said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia Monday. Revenue increased to RM562.4 million from RM432.0 million previously.
