Four Sabah women called for national futsal training

Kota Kinabalu: Four Sabahan women futsal players are on the verge of making the national team after they were called up for national training camp in August.Although Sabahan ladies are known to make the national women football team regularly , it is however, the very first time that the national body futsal committee have named Sabahans in their initial squad for the first phase of training.The four players Masturah Majid, Uslizah Usman, Sheryl Elly Pius and Dadree Rofinus were over the moon with the news which was conveyed to them after the recent Sabah leg of the National Futsal League tournament last weekend.

Masturah who hails from Tuaran when contacted said they were very excited with the call-up."We are all very happy and excited with the news . It will be a great experience for us and we will surely grab the opportunity to try our very best to make the final team."The four are backbone in the state team that finished in third place in the National Futsal League and national women futsal head coach Chiew Chun Yong had also hinted last week that at least four from Sabah will receive the call up after an impressive display in the competition.Meanwhile, Sabah FA Futsal and Beach Football Committee Chairman Yamani Hafez Musa said the call up indicated that the development of the sport in the state is going in the right direction.
