Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Bodybuilding Association (SBBA) will be sending 10 bodybuilders to represent the State for the Mr Malaysia Bodybuilding Championship to be held from June 5 until 7 in Labuan.Acting President, Joannes Staneslous said they are targeting two gold, three silver and three bronze medals during the three-day event with Henro Lee and Geinod Lojitin leading spearheading the charge for gold.

"Henro did not join the Mr Sabah tournament recently due to family matters but he has confirmed his entry in the Masters category and he is our main hope for gold," he told reporters Wednesday.

"Geinod is also a strong contender for gold. He is our best bet for the Light-heavyweight title after clinching the same weight class at the Mr Sabah last week," Joannes added.

The association has come up with a modest target after few of its top guns who won gold at the Mr Sabah could not join the fray in Labuan.

Riano Engah who won the Mr. Sabah Overall Champion at Soluxe Hotel in Putatan was not selected due to personal reasons.

As it is, SBBA has turned to seasoned campaigners to help deliver and maintain its two gold medals won at last year's Mr. Malaysia in Putrajaya.

Aside from the prospects for gold, SBBA is also targeting three silvers through Jirin Arafat Kunal (Light-flyweight), Jamain Korop (Flyweight) and Melvin Louis (Welterweight).

For bronze, they are banking on the rest of the field to claim podium finish in their respective divisions.

The other Sabahan muscles bound for the Mr. Malaysia championship are Calvin Wong (Junior Lightweight), Edward Juin Jr (Junior Welterweight), Abdul Mat Sali (Bantamweight) and Ijoh Gastin Salimpah (Lightweight).

They will be accompanied by team manager Victor Ong, coach Jeffery Thaddeus and judge Alik Makim.

All Sabah representatives are urged to make their own preparation before joining centralised training ahead of the trip to Labuan on today (Thursday).
