Darters set for Kaamatan Open competition

Kota Kinabalu: Darters from throughout Sabah are locked and ready for the Kaamatan Singles Open Darts Competition at the Bullseye Sports Cafe (BSC) in Penampang.The tournament to be held on May 30 at the HS Commercial Centre is set to be an exciting affair involving players from various clubs.

Tournament organiser Johnson Antamat said clubs from Penampang and Kota Kinabalu have confirmed their entries and are counting down to the tournament date.

"So far we have players from several clubs in Penampang and Kota Kinabalu and we expect more to join in the next few days.

"We also received entries from Telekom Malaysia Darts Club as well as from Kota Kinabalu Industrial Training Institute (ILPKK)," he said.

More than RM1,000 is up for grabs including RM500 for the champion and RM250 for runner-up.

There is also a RM100 prize for joint 3rd and 4th place winners as well as RM50 for those who finish from fifth to eighth place.

The tournament is scheduled to kick-off at 2pm on Saturday and will be played in a knock-out system if the number of entries received exceeds 32 players.

Entry fee is RM40 per person and closing date is at 1pm on the day of the tournament.
