11 traditional sports to be contested

Kota Kinabalu: A total of 11 traditional sports will be contested in conjunction with the State-level Harvest Festival celebration this year.Chairman of the Sabah Sports Board (LSNS) cum traditional sports patron, Datuk Louis Rampas said the competition will be held on May 30 and 31 at the Hongkod Koisaan, Penampang.He said among the contest are Mipulos (arm wrestling), Rampanau (walking on giant slippers), Terompak Gergasi (Sipatu Tompulanggoi), Monopuk (blow pipe) Momolistik (slingshot), Mamagandal (lifting rice), Tumutu (mashing rice), Mangapui, Migazat Dukug (tug of war), Manandus (Membujak) and Monungkava Kalabau ((riding on buffaloes).
