Kota Kinabalu: A police report has been lodged by Sabah Parks to investigate and take action against the 10 European tourists who went nude for a photoshoot at the Mt Kinabalu South Peak area.Sabah Parks Director Dr Jamil Nais said the names of the 27 climbers, 10 (six men and four women) who were involved, have been handed to the police to facilitate investigations. So far, the identities of the 10 suspects have yet to be ascertained and whether they are still in the country.

Dr Jamil said the pictures of the group of tourists taking off their clothes started to go viral in the social media and instant messenger on May 30.

"It is part of a trend. Otherwise why would anyone want to take off their clothes in such cold weather up there?" he asked.

Based on the mountain guide's report the following day, the suspects were among a group of 27 European climbers and he claims to have tried to stop them but that they responded by calling him "stupid" and "go to hell."

However, the incident was not reported immediately to the Sabah Parks in Laban Rata or at the Kinabalu Parks headquarters so that immediate action could be taken the same day.

Following this, a show cause letter was issued to the mountain guide concerned for failure to report the incident immediately. It was not immediately clear why there was only a single guide considering it was a large group.
