Sabah observes a day of mourning

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah observed a day of mourning on Monday with all flags at government buildings flown at half-mast as a mark of respect for the victims of Friday's earthquake in Mount Kinabalu.Deputy Chief Minister cum Minister of Industrial Development, Datuk Raymond Tan, together with all senior officers of agencies under his Ministry, marked the mourning with a one-minute silence at Wisma Tun Fuad Stephens. Tan conveyed condolences to the families of the earthquake victims and he also managed to contact Senior Minister Home and Foreign Affairs Minister of Singapore, Masagos Zulkifli Masagos Mohamad, to express sadness over the demise of school children and teachers from Singapore in the incident.

In TAWAU, flags at all the government buildings and some private premises were also seen flown at half-mast. The buildings included government offices and agencies, hotels as well as bank institutions.
