Royal Dart emerge champions

Kota Kinabalu: A total of 43 participated in the Labuan Open International Dart Championship held at the Billion Hotel Waterfront last June 5 to 7.A mixture of darters from Sabah and Philippines, Royal Dart was crowned champions of the coveted Team Event category, instantly winning RM12,000 in cash, trophy and medals.

Brunei KDKK darters settled for second place finish, bringing home RM6,000 in cash prize and medals.

Sabah's Damai Eco Ranch, who defeated favourites PDC Zoom in the quarterfinals, and Labuan's All 4 One ended the championship in joint third place, each cashing out RM2,000 with medals.

Meanwhile, in the Second Chance Team Event, Kg Ayer The Shield 5 came out on top to win RM1,000, medals and trophy while Brunei KBT Waqi Awesome finishes second with RM500 cash and medals.

In the Men Singles, Brunei duo darters of Pg Mohamed Haji Matarsad and Haji Zuraini Yassin bagged home RM3,500 cash in total with trophy and medals as they both finished first and second respectively.

Labuan's Suzilinah Suali championed the Ladies Singles category to win RM1,500, medal and trophy while Monica from Sabah settled for second with RM800 plus trophy and medal.

For the Under-17 Junior, Mohd Saiful from Limbang, Sarawak won the category to take home RM500 cash with trophy and medal after defeating Brunei's Muqris Delima in the final.

A special award were given to darters that have been among the foundation of Borneo's darting scenes and the recipients were Pg Mohamed Haji Matarsad (Brunei), David (Sabah) and Elbert (Labuan).
