Ranau: It was a busy week for leaders and volunteers at the Ranau St Peter Claver Catholic Church (SPCR) where their humanitarian mission continued by sending bottled drinking water and other sundry goods to far flung villages. On Saturday, the mission, led by SPCR's Rector, Rev Fr Nicholas Stephen, reached villagers in Kg Lobou Timbua and Kg Kauyian, located about 2 hours journey by unpaved road.

"The two villages are very far. Most of the people there are SIB Christians, but we gave them water and food items anyway because this is a humanitarian mission which transcend beyond the boundaries of religion, beliefs and race.

"We thank all the volunteers as well as the transportation 'Malims' who help us transport all the items to the villages although they took part voluntarily for the purpose of doing good deeds. May God bless them.

"Here we also would like to encourage more individuals to take part in this mission, because there are still many of those who need these valuable items in their areas. It is tiring, but enjoyable, especially since we are doing it for Christ our Lord," he said.

Nicholas said, the Mission will continue next week, whereby they would make more trips to reach out for the needy on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Meanwhile, Director of the Department Of Veterinary Services and Livestock (JPHPT), Dr Yeo Boon Kiat presented 300 trays of fresh eggs to villagers who suffered following the June 5 earthquake.

Some 523 boxes drinking water were also present from the Vetterinary Cooperative and the PIBG of SMK Kolombong.

Also present were Chairman of the Sabah Veterinary Coperative, Dr Peter Lee, Ranau JPHPT Chief, Dr Joseph Palalun and SMK Kolombong's PIBG Chief, Kennedy Juani.
