YS allocated RM200m to help students: Musa

Kuala Lumpur: The Sabah Foundation has allocated more than RM200 million to help students in the state pursue their studies at local higher education institutions (IPT).Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said since the foundation was established in 1970, the allocations had included scholarships and loans.He was speaking to reporters at the breaking-of-fast event with 1,300 Sabah students, who attended 31 local IPTs, here Monday night.

Meanwhile, Sabah Foundation Director Datuk Sapawi Ahmad said between 1970 and 2014, education loans amounting to RM191 million had been given to 8,883 students."Under the Sabah State Excellence Scholarship Award, we also spent almost RM50 million to sponsor 464 SPM excellent students," he said.
