Folklore Festival promotion

Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman on Wednesday launched the 10th Sabah International Folklore Festival (SIFF) promotion at the grounds of Wisma Innoprise, here.To mark the launching, Musa placed a sticker each on two SIFF official cars which will be used for two months from Wednesday to promote the prestigious event.

Also present were Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Yahya Hussin, State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun and other State Cabinet members.

Themed "People's Weddings", the SIFF this time will be from Aug 10 to 15 and scheduled to be held at the Sabah Cultural Centre in Penampang.

Sabah Tourism Board General Manager Datu Rosmadi Datu Sulai, when met by reporters, said all the 15 participating countries would showcase their traditional dances and costumes that were in line with the theme.

The countries include Latvia, Indonesia, the Philippines, South Korea, Brunei Darussalam, Kazakhstan, Taiwan, India, Turkey and Kyrgyzstan, while Slovakia and Russia will be participating in the SIFF for the first time.
