Team tennis tourney sees increase in prize money

Kota Kinabalu: The 8th series of the Sabah Invitational Team Tennis tournament known as 1Malaysia Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor Challenge Trophy's prize money has been increased to RM15,000 from the previous RM10,000 purse.This prize money's increment for the tournament starting on September 25 to 27, was agreed upon by the organising committee in the recent meeting chaired by Tournament Chairman, Daniel Tan.The tournament organised by Sabah Tennis Association (STA) will be held at two venues, Likas Sports Complex and Sutera Harbour Resort.

There are five categories open for the tournament, Men's Doubles for 25, 35, 45 and 55 years old and above while for the ladies, only one category open which is the Women's Doubles for 35 years old and above.Participating teams are encouraged to send their registration forms before September 4 to the STA office at Suite E12, 6th Floor, CPS Tower, Centre Point Sabah.STA representative thanked the Youth and Sports Minister as well the Tourism Minister for showing their support towards the tournament which has been held every year for the past few years and will continue to do so for the coming years ahead.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

As a practice before STA will ensure all the teams to have an enjoyable stay in Sabah and good tennis sportsmanship because sports tourism is also part of the objectives for this tournament.
