Penang: The state government will no longer be known as the Penang Pakatan Rakyat state government but just the Penang state government.The matter was decided during Wednesday's state executive council meeting, said Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.

In a statement released Thursday, Lim said the state exco also upheld the three decisions made previously:

i. disagree with the decision made by the recent Pas muktamar to severe ties with DAP;

ii. accept that PR no longer existed following the recent Pas muktamar's motion; and

iii. to continue to run the state based on the PR Common Policy Framework drafted in 2009 and the 2013 general election manifesto.

"Based on that, the state exco has decided that we will now be known as just the Penang state government and not the Penang PR state government from now on.

"Nevertheless, we will continue to operate as usual under the CAT (competency, accountability and transparency) principles," he said.
