Kota Kinabalu: The Quran is the most vital source for Muslims not only to guide them how to manage life but also useful for the community as well as the management and administration of the State and nation.Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said the Quran is in fact the main source for them to look for guidance and reference for the whole life of Muslims."The Quran and Ramadan are two important elements in the lives of Muslims and embracing both are considered a blessing as it could uplift the status of Muslims.ADVERTISEMENT "Therefore, it is essential for Muslims to understand, adopt and practice the content of the Quran that will lead them to the right path and way in line with the teaching and values of Islam," he said.Musa said this when opening the 'Bicara Ramadan' in conjunction with of Nuzul Al-Quran (the commemoration of the revelation of the Quran which falls on the 17th of Ramadan) at Wisma Muis here, Friday.Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif delivered Musa's speech in the presence of Sabah Mufti Ustaz Bongsu @ Aziz Jaafar and Sabah Islamic Religious Affair Department (Jheains) director Halim Nayan.Musa said Muslims need to be creative and proactive to diversify its efforts in learning, appreciating and adopting the content of the Quran.ADVERTISEMENT "The government will continue to give priority to Islamic institutions that have huge influence in producing quality human capital among the younger generations like from the Islamic government primary and secondary schools and colleges."Other than this, we will also continue to maximise the functions and roles of mosques, suraus and other form of institutions that teach Islamic values and knowledge towards effectively educating the Muslims from early stage of education," he said.

According to him, the Sabah Maahad Tahfiz Al-Quran Wal Qiraat was established in 1995 as an Islamic education institution that has college status and specialising in teaching Quran knowledge and other related subjects.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

Hence, he said it has been realised that education institution is the basic and first place for any race and generation to create and produce a civilised and knowledgeable society.Musa also emphasised that the State Government will continue to enhance efforts of consolidating management policies by instiling integrity values, trustworthy, moderation and Islamisation elements in the whole community system.
