Kuala Lumpur: A Hari Raya greeting appearing on electronic billboards has drawn flak among members of the public for what they thought was a cartoon of a pig donning a baju Melayu and songkok, wishing Muslims "Selamat Hari Raya".The advertisement was from Servcorp Malaysia, under the Servcorp group, an international company offering serviced and virtual office solutions in Sydney, Australia. Some people took to Servcorp Malaysia's Facebook page, condemning the company and demanding a clarification.

After a police report was lodged, City Hall and police immediately checked all 28 electronic billboards around the Pavilion KL shopping centre, from Jalan Raja Chulan to Jalan Sultan Ismail.Servcorp Malaysia has denied the allegation, stating that the image of the animal was that of a wombat.
The wombat, a member of the bear family native to Australia, is Servcorp's mascot."Although it was not of an animal offensive to Muslims, City Hall has, nonetheless, instructed the billboard company Oohm International Holdings Sdn Bhd to take down the advertisement to avoid further misunderstanding," City Hall Director-General Datuk Amin Nordin Abd Aziz said in a statement.
