Young urged to reassess history of leaders' struggle

Kota Belud: The young generation in the State are urged to review and reassess the history of the struggle of leaders whose sacrifices for the country's independence have allowed the present generation to enjoy the peace and comfort.Kota Belud Umno Youth vice-chairman Fadli Juanas said without the struggle and sacrifices of the previous leaders, the current comfortable life the State have might be felt.

He said the incidents of war in several other Muslim countries should be a lesson for the younger generation to always appreciate security.

Fadli said this when met after attending the iftar with Muslims in Masjid Nurul Jasanah Kg Kupang, Kuala Abai, here.

Therefore Fadli called on the youths, especially the Muslims, to appreciate the State prosperity and security as well as conserve it so that the peace and progress remains inherited by the next generation.

"The present generation have not felt the sense of struggle, of the very difficult confrontations faced by society then," he said.

He said young people as future leaders need to be aware and rise to strengthen their identity, love for the country and strive to strengthen solidarity as well as be a pillar of strength in the country.

In the meantime Fadli said that Ramadan is the best time to educate young people to strengthen their faith through the practice they performed.

He said that fasting can also educate young people to be honest than to fight their unhealthy desire.

At the ceremony, Fadli also presented zakat contribution to the poor, single mothers, orphans and the disabled.
