AlloyMTD gets nod to redevelop London property site

Kuala Lumpur: Malaysian developer, AlloyMtd Group, has received unanimous approval from the London Borough of Hackney's (LBH) Planning Committee on its plans to redevelop One Crown Place London EC2, in London.AlloyMtd, via unit, AlloyMtd (Jersey) Ltd acquired the strategic and landmark property development site two years ago from Sun Properties Ltd, a unit of UBS.

In a statement Monday, AlloyMtd Group President/Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Dr Azmil Khalid, said with the approval, the property project was expected to start by this November.

"We are delighted that LBH members see One Crown Place providing positive benefits to this part of London including new jobs and workspaces, additional housing provision including a big contribution for affordable homes.

"The gross development value estimated at £451 million (RM2.66 billion)," he said.

AlloyMtd said a planning application was submitted to the LBH in March 2015 for a mixed use scheme by AlloyMtd (Jersey) Ltd.

"The proposed mixed use scheme will feature two separate residential towers located above podium offices providing workspaces that meets the requirements of the modern occupier alongside retail, residential and boutique hotel," it said. – Bernama
