Six Sukma silat exponents taking part in KL c'ship

Kota Kinabalu: Six potential State Pencak Silat Sukma exponents will get the chance to shine at the inaugural Kuala Lumpur Pencak Silat Invitation championship starting Monday at the Titiwangsa Stadium in Kuala Lumpur.Anddy Awang, Suzainee Ison, Norhamizah Jemrin, Tracy Lagob, Rosenioh Mohd @Rosly, Mohd Safar Sabturani, Iqmar Mail @ Ismail, Mohd Zakry Nonong and Azmin Khan left for the national capital on Sunday, and coach Emy Latip hoped the athletes will produce their best in the competition.

"This is their first competition in preparation for the Sukma Games in Kuching next year since the training programme started , and furthermore, they had just came back from the Hari Raya holiday a week ago, so I hope they can give their best throughout the competition as the main target is the games next year itself and I want them to focus on that."

She added that of the nine, Anddy, Suzainee, Norhamizah, Rosenioh and Azmin competed in the last Sukma game sin Perlis while Tracy, Safar, Iqmar and Zakry are new comers.

Three events will be held over five days and the Sabah contingent will only be taking part in the Sukma category and not the youth and open category.
