Kota Kinabalu: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, as leader and administrator of the government, needs a line-up that fully supports and able to work with him not only to develop the nation but has the collective responsibility to weather whatever prevailing and future challenges. "This is a fundamental prerequisite for any government anywhere in the world," said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman (pic) when commenting on the Federal Cabinet reshuffle announced by Najib on Tuesday.

Furthermore, he said the appointment of the Federal Cabinet Ministers was the prerogative of the Prime Minister.

"I, therefore, congratulate all those who have been appointed in the new Federal Cabinet line-up. I also wish to congratulate Datuk Seri Salleh Tun Said Keruak and Datuk Wilfred Madius Tangau on their appointments in the new line-up.

"I believe their experience in politics and government will be a contribution to the Federal Cabinet," he said.

Musa also called for an end of the political friction and instead to focus on jointly resolving problems confronting the nation and issues affecting the people.

Minister of Special Tasks Datuk Teo Chee Kang believed the reshuffling had strengthened the Federal Cabinet as a united team.

He said the Prime Minister needs a Cabinet who speak in one voice, without which the Government is not able to function to the fullest and in a country that practises Westminster democracy, the Prime Minister has the prerogative to form and reorganise his Cabinet.

Teo, who is also the President of Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), also registered appreciation to former Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and all Ministers who were dropped for their contributions while they served in the Cabinet.

"We also welcome the appointments of Datuk Seri Salleh Tun Said as the Communications and Multimedia Minister and Datuk Wilfred Madius Tangau as the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, both very important portfolios," he said.
