Kota Belud: Frequent landslides have disrupted the daily routine of Kampung Tambatuon's residents here.A resident, Jentany Rongod, said several students from SMK Narinang and SK Tambatuon were affected as they faced difficulties travelling to school if a landslide occurred.

"The rented vehicle used to fetch students from the village to school are unable to pass through. I became worried with my children's education as there have been several times they had missed school especially during landslides and the road gets muddy and slippery when it rains.

"Teachers from both schools generally live outside the village and when landslides occur, the road becomes impassable," he said when contacted here Tuesday.

Jentany said the villagers' economy was also affected as farmers could not market their products in town.

Meanwhile, Kota Belud District Officer Abdul Gari Itam said his authorities would look into the matter and follow-up action would be taken.

"A discussion will be held with the Kota Belud Public Works Department on upgrading the current road or to find an alternative road to the village," he said.
