Ministry bans three books

Kuala Lumpur: The Home Ministry has banned the publishing and printing of two religious books and a book that contains elements of pornography, which can threaten public order and morality. The books are titled "Doa Jausyan Shaghir" yang terkandung (Doa Yastasir, Doa Simat, Doa Masylul, Doa Adilah, Ziarah Jami Al Kabir) and "Doa Nudbah, Doa Ahd, Doa Faraj (Keluasan), Doa Ziarah dan Doa untuk Kegaiban Imam Mahdi" published by Zahra Publishing House, and "To Love Ru Darkness", a novel in Mandarin, published by Tongli Publishing Co.The ministry's Publication and Quranic Texts Control Division secretary, Hashimah Nik Jaafar said in a statement that the books contained elements which could be detrimental to Muslims' faith in the country, spreading the syiah teachings and contained elements of pornography.

She said the ban order on the three books was effective June 23, 2015 and gazetted under Section 7(1) of the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

According to Sub-Section 2 of Section 8 of the same Act, it is an offence to print, import, produce, reproduce, publish, sell, issue, circulate, offer for sale and distribution, and to possess such banned publications.The offence carries a jail term of up to three years and a fine not exceeding RM20,000, or both. – Bernama
