Sabah hammer NS 16-0 in Rodziah Cup opener

Kota Kinabalu: Defending champion Sabah opened their campaign in the 28th Tun Sharifah Rodziah cup women football tournament with a 16-0 hammering of Negri Sembilan on Sunday.The team led 9-0 in the first half with Nor Athirah Mamat – getting three goals and two from Thera Dellstey while Jaciah Jumilis, Nuraziela Ali Jainal, Rosdianah Adeline Jerus and Siti Nurfaizah Saidin each netted one.The restart saw Thera Dellstey added two more and so did Nor Athirah while the other three were each scored by Zaffeka Zakaria, Yastrika Laura Tumas and Zaryatie Zakaria.ADVERTISEMENT Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

Head coach Smith A Ampuling said after the match that he was pleased with the result as he had wanted the team to win big so as to put pressure on the other teams.Sabah are placed in group A in the competition with Negri Sembilan, Penang, Sarawak and Selangor while group B consists of PDRM, ATM, MISC-MIFA, Perak and Pahang.
