Davies wins Superbike title

Selangor: Chaz Davies of Aruba.It Racing Ducati prevented Jonathan Rea of Kawasaki Racing Team from dominating both the 2015 World Superbike Championship (WSBK) races at the Sepang International Circuit here Sunday by winning Race Two.Davies from Great Britain won Race Two after clocking 33 minutes 36.466 seconds, just 0.091s ahead of Rea who had won Race One of the 16-lap race.Jordi Torres of Aprilla Racing Team came in third place with a time 33:41.474s.ADVERTISEMENT Davies also denied Rea the overall title of the 2015 World Superbike Championship (WSBK) for this season."The last lap it just dropped off (tire grip) and it was just a case of hanging on and trying not to make any mistakes, it was not easy. "I seemed to get slower and he (Rea) was maintaining pace but I just tried something and we had a little contact and though it was all over but managed to stay upright. I am glad we both stayed upright and I think we both enjoyed that," he said.The result sees Davies moving up to second in the overall standings with 308 points while Rea remained in first place on 452 but his teammate Tom Sykes (295) dropped to third.ADVERTISEMENT Only three legs of the series remain this year with the next race set to be held in Jerez, Spain on Sept 20.Rea of Great Britain almost clinched the overall 2015 WSBK champion title after he won Race One earlier.
