Kota Kinabalu: City Hall is not allowing fishermen to land and sell their fish at the Likas Bay Public Park as it conflicts with the land use zoning, which is for open space and recreation purposes. According to the Mayor Datuk Abidin Madingkir, the park is used for recreation and is becoming increasingly popular among the local community and tourists and also a famous spot to view the sunset. Madingkir expressed his concern that if the landing and selling of fish activities are allowed in the park, it will pose cleanliness problems and cause a smell nuisance.
