Balung YB Syed Abas takes over as Speaker

Kota Kinabalu: Balung assemblyman Datuk Syed Abas Syed Ali has been appointed as Sabah state legislative assembly speaker. Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman when announcing, said he was expected to assume the post starting this Friday.Syed Abas, 68, takes over as the ninth speaker of the assembly from Datuk Seri Salleh Tun Said Keruak, who was appointed as the Communications and Multimedia Minister following the recent Federal cabinet reshuffling.
