Sabah trounce Penang 7-0

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah continued their dominance in the 28th Tun Sharifah Rodziah Cup Inter-State Women Football Championship, trouncing Penang 7-0 in their second match of Group A, yesterday.After thrashing Negeri Sembilan 16-0 on Sunday, the defending champions raced into a commanding 4-0 half-time lead, Yastrika Laura and Nuraziela Ali Jainal scoring one apiece while Siti Nurfaizah Saidin adding another two.

Another goal from Nuraziela and a brace from Nor Athirah Mamat ensured Sabah ended the match with all three points instantly putting them in command of the group.

A team representative was satisfied with the performance of the player, adding that the team displayed ruthless scoring abilities and defending prowess throughout the match.

He added that the match gave a positive outcome as players showed massive improvements in the teamwork department considering that several new players never played together before.

Sabah topped Group A with a maximum six points from two matches and will now prepare for the next match against neighbour, Sarawak on Wednesday.
