51 bodies pay tribute in Keningau

Keningau: About 51 organisations comprising government agencies, non-governmental organisations and local dignitaries paid tributes to those who died during the Second World War during its 70th Anniversary here.Among those who attended were Keningau District Officer, Yusop Osman, Keningau Police Chief, DSP Douglas Nyeging Taong and Foochow Association representative from Kota Kinabalu. Some representatives also expressed their hope that next year, the event would be better managed and celebrated on a much larger scale that can become a tourism product that attracts tourists from overseas.In another development, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun hoped the monument can be used as a product to attract tourists from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and from around the world.
