Nicholas seizes lead

Kota Kinabalu: Nicholas Fung has taken over from fellow Sabahan Brandon Lau to take a two-stroke lead at the halfway stage of the Professional G olf of Malaysia (PGM) Tour's Orna Closed Championship today (Thursday).He shot a three-under 69 with six birdies, a bogey and a double-bogey for a seven-under-par 137 total and led Khor Kheng Hwai, who also had a second round 69, and top-ranked junior amateur Low Khai Jei, who had a 70, in joint second place with 139.

Two other Sabahans Ben Leong, who carded a two-under 70 and Lam Yu Shuen, who had a 73 on four-under 140 were in joint fourth place.

Sharing sixth place were M. Sasidaran (70) and Wilson Choo (73), who won earlier this season with 141.

Lim Eng Seng (71) and Shaifubari Muda (73) were joint eighth on 143 while two other Sabahans Dion Abdillah and Solomon Emilio Rosidin were tied in 14th place with 145.

Meanwhile, first round leader Brandon Lau had a disastrous second day score of 84 that saw him dropped to a tie for 34th place on 150.
