UMS finish third in athletics meet

Kota Kinabalu: Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) came third in the Malaysian Universities Sports Council (Masum) Athletics Championship which ended at UKM in Bangi, Sunday.They returned with four gold, six silver and four bronze medals to finish behind overall winner UPM who won 19 gold, eight silver and eight bronze medals with UM in second place with eight gold, two silver and two bronze medals.The four gold medalists were Fazira Asmadi Harjono in the 3000m, Max Anzie Jetol in javelin, Ana Lydia Tinggi in long jump and Jvan De Jvander Johwas, also in long jump

The six silver medals came from Max Anzie Jetol (shot putt), Fazira Asmadi Harjono (women 800m & 1500m), Josephine Yaban (3000m), Diana Sari (women 100m & 200m) while the bronze contributors were Farinah Basirin (400m hurdle), Shafie Irwan (Men 100m & 200m ) and Josephine Y (1500m).Deputy Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs Prof. Madya Dr Ismail Ali praised the contingent for their third place finish.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
