AirAsia to make Langkawi its int'l hub by year-end

Kuala Lumpur: AirAsia plans to make Langkawi its international hub for the region by year-end, said chief executive officer (CEO), Aireen Omar."We are working closely with the government in trying to see how we can build Langkawi as the region's international hub."You can see that happening sometime towards the end of this year," she told a press conference after officiating the AirAsia-Bukit Bintang monorail station here Friday.

Aireen said the airline would hold another press conference with AirAsia X CEO Benyamin Ismail soon to reveal its plans for Langkawi, as well as, announce new destinations.Prasarana's "station naming rights programme" for the monorail station is the first of its kind in Southeast Asia and offers companies an opportunity to transform a station to reflect the brand's corporate identity and name it after themselves.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
