Kuala Lumpur: Prasarana Malaysia Bhd expects to increase revenue contribution from its non-core businesses to 30 per cent next year from the current 15 per cent.President/Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Datuk Azmi Abdul Aziz said the group had started its corporate reorganisation exercise to streamline revenue stream from its five subsidiaries.

"Prasarana Integrated Management & Engineering (Prime) and Prasarana Integrated Development Sdn Bhd (Pride) are both looking at increasing non-core revenue to the group.

"Pride has started with monetising the assets within the group, while Prime is looking at opportunities outside Prasarana and overseas," he told a press conference after officiating the AirAsia-Bukit Bintang monorail station here Friday. Azmi said one of Prime's overseas initiatives include the three-year contract to operate and maintain the Al Mashaaer Al Mugaddasah metro line in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

Three other subsidiaries, Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd and Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd, are tasked with increasing ridership, while Prasarana Rail and Infrastructure Projects Sdn Bhd (Praise) would manage future projects such as the LRT 3. The "station naming rights programme" for the AirAsia-Bukit Bintang monorail station is the first of its kind in Southeast Asia and offers companies an opportunity to transform a station to reflect the brand's corporate identity and name is after themselves. – Bernama
