Akjan says he is still Pekida Sabah chief
Kota Kinabalu: Jamaluddin Yusoff should immediately stop issuing statements and conduct activities under the name of Pertubuhan Kebajikan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (Pekida).Declaring that he is still Pekida Sabah chief, Datu Akjan Datu Ali Muhammad said Jamaluddin should not further incriminate himself since his position currently hangs in balance.

Akjan alleged that Jamaluddin is still under investigation by the Registrar of Societies (ROS) over a series of alleged misconducts.

"This includes allowing delegates with questionable status to attend and vote in Pekida's Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Kuantan, Pahang, in 2013," he claimed.

Akjan claimed that he had submitted a comprehensive report, complete with evidence of the alleged misconduct, to the ROS Sabah branch, in August this year.

He was responding to Jamaluddin's recent statement claiming that Pekida Sabah has been de-registered and is seeking re-registration but without Akjan as its head. Jamaluddin also claimed that Pekida now had a negative image as being gangster-like in its activities and this had to be corrected.

Akjan rubbished Jamaluddin's claim that Pekida Sabah has been de-registered.

"We urge Jamaluddin to enlighten us when was Pekida Sabah de-registered and by whom? As far as we know, Pekida Sabah was never registered, except for its branches at the district level. Hence, how could it be de-registered? Furthermore, Pekida Kota Kinabalu branch is still intact and was never de-registered," said Akjan.

He also rebutted Jamaluddin's claim that all the state Pekida chiefs including him (Akjan) had relinquished their post after the Pekida's annual general meeting (AGM) held in Kuantan, Pahang, in 2013.

"How come I'm not aware that I have relinquished my post as the state chief? Where's the official letter to inform me that I'm no longer the Pekida Sabah chief?" Akjan asked.

He said that until today, he has not received any official letter to inform him of his removal as a member of the supreme council of Pekida.

"Why only now, almost three years later that Hj Jamaluddin announced my removal abruptly? What's the motive behind it?" Akjan questioned.
