29 take part in S'kan junior wushu meet

Sandakan: A total of 29 people participated in the Sandakan First Junior Wushu Championship 2015 jointly organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Sabah and Sandakan Elopura Wushu Club, here, recently.The participants were from SJK © Pui Gin, SJK © Lok Yuk, SJK © Tai Tong, SJK © Yuk Choi primary school, SMJK Tiong Hua and Yu Yuan Secondary School.

They were trained by Lim Shung Zer under the tutelage of Sandakan Elopura Wushu Club.

According to the organising chairman of the competition, Lim Shung Zer, the participants had shown their courage through their Wushu routines performed on the stage and this could be the starting point for them to seek their breakthrough by taking part in different level of Wushu competition in future.

As a Wushu coach, he felt proud of his students as they followed his orders to take part in the Wushu competition, it should be known about obeying the positive commands of master is one of the Wushu moralities that should Wushu disciples to hold steadfastly.

Meanwhile, Officer from the KBSS Sandakan Division, Titing Dullah Abdul Rahman, when officiating the event, said Sandakan will be the host of the Sabah Games (SAGA) in 2017.

"Wushu may be included in SAGA 2017 and athletes who took part in this competition may have the opportunity to represent Sandakan in the game," he said.
