Teacher tied up and robbed

Tawau: A 28-year-old kindergarten teacher was tied up and robbed by two masked robbers at a Tabika Kemas in Kg Simpang Tiga Merotai, here, on Wednesday. Acting District Police Chief Supt. Mustaffa Maarof Mustaffa said the robbers made off with the woman's gold ring and RM3,000 from the nursery school's funds in the 9.40am incident. "The woman's colleague found her tied up inside the nursery. She was not injured but is still traumatised by the incident," he said. ADVERTISEMENT He said police are in the midst of identifying the culprits and that investigations are being done under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code for gang robbery. Meanwhile, photos of the woman being hospitalised and various versions of the occurrence began making their rounds over social media following the incident. One version claimed that the woman had her hands and neck tied to a tree, was unconscious and close to dying due to suffocation when villagers found her.
