Girl arrested after sending body of boy to hospital
Kota Kinabalu: A teenager was apprehended after a stab wound was found on the body of a 17-year-old boy who she took to the hospital in Lahad Datu on Thursday. State Criminal Investigation Department Chief Datuk Salehuddin Abdul Rahman (pic) said early investigations revealed that the girl, also 17, had taken the body to the hospital's emergency ward at about 2am.

He said the girl was arrested for questioning after preliminary investigations showed that the boy had died due to an abdominal stab wound.

"Investigations showed that the incident, which is believed to have been triggered by an argument between the two, had taken place at a hotel in the district at about 3am on Wednesday.

"A knife has been confiscated and the case is being probed under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder," he said here Thursday.

In a separate case, he said a 25-year-old man, without documents, was arrested after a Filipino woman, also without documents, was found dead by the roadside of an oil palm estate in Beaufort on Tuesday.

Early inspection showed no injury to the body, except for a bruise on the left eye and injury mark believed to be caused by a blow to the head with a blunt object.

Salehuddin said prior to the arrest, a 37-year-old Filipino construction labourer, who is also the husband of the deceased, had been picked up for questioning under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

"Investigations showed the husband is not involved in the murder. However, he is detained under the Immigration Act for not having valid documents.

"The second arrest was made on Wednesday evening and we believe the motive is robbery," he said.
