Age no barrier to IT literacy

Kuala Penyu: The 1Malaysia Internet Centre (PI1M) in Kampung Tinambak has not only benefited local youths but senior citizens as well. "The facilities provided by the Government have given a huge impact to the community here," he said, when met during the launching of PI1M by Beaufort Member of Parliament Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun, Sunday. Another villager, Nurmala Hussin, 28, also said the facility assisted her in promoting her catering business online. She was able to expand her business by introducing new services. "I am able to attract new customers and improve my family's income," she said.

Meanwhile, Azizah who is also Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development urged the people to make full use of the facility provided by the Government.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

She said among the initiatives include to promote tourism and local food products in the district.

"I believe this can help to attract more visitors to Kuala Penyu," she said, adding that the famous Kg Tinambak's soup spices can also be promoted to improve the people's economy.
