Kota Kinabalu: A four-year-old was killed after her mother accidentally ran over her and three others at a preschool in Alam Damai, Taman Seputih, Monday. Megan Wong Shi Ting, was rushed to the KPJ Hospital but succumbed to her injuries at about 10.10am.Three others injured were a six-year-old Bajau girl from Putatan who was traumatised while a five-year-old Bugis boy sustained injuries to his hips and their Dusun teacher sustained a fractured hip as well as internal abdominal bleeding.

City Police Chief ACP M. Chandra said early investigations showed the tragedy took place when the 36-year-old woman dropped her daughter at the preschool at about 9.30am. It was learnt that the woman unintentionally stepped on the accelerator of her Ford Focus Sports before shifting the gear into reverse.
The impact caused the vehicle to jerk forward, crushing the girl and two children, aged six and five, as they were being ushered by their 25-year-old teacher. The accident took place just days before the upcoming Chinese New Year.

Last year, a three-year-old girl was killed when her father accidentally ran over her at a housing area in Mile 7, in Sandakan while visiting relatives' house in conjunction with Hari Raya. The girl also succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
