SEPANG: AirAsia and AirAsia X guests are advised to arrive at the airport at least three hours prior to the scheduled time of departure for AirAsia flights and at least four hours earlier for AirAsia X flights. This is to avoid congestion due to the expected surge in travellers during the long weekend Chinese New Year festive period break.

Guests are also encouraged to conduct self-check-in via web, mobile or kiosk services for a smoother journey at the airport. Web, mobile and kiosk check-in services are available 14 days and up to one hour prior to departure for all AirAsia flights and up to four hours prior to departure for all AirAsia X flights.

In a special collaboration between AirAsia and UBER, all AirAsia guests commuting to KLIA2, Penang International Airport and Senai International Airport (Johor Bahru) can enjoy savings of RM15 off their total Uber fares when they key in the unique promo code for each city. This promotion is ongoing from now until Feb 16 and is applicable for first time Uber riders only.

The airline also reminded its guests that baggage drop counters close one hour before scheduled time of departure for all AirAsia and AirAsia X flights.

As congestion is expected at the security scanning, baggage clearance and immigration checkpoints during the long weekend, it is advisable to complete baggage drop and proceed to the boarding gate as early as possible.

Guests with group booking, reduced mobility or with special needs are only allowed to check-in at the counter and should allocate more time to clear all travelling formalities.

Each guest is only allowed one piece of cabin baggage and one laptop bag or one handbag onboard.

The main cabin baggage must weigh not more than 7kg and must be within the 36cm (h) x 23cm (w) x 56cm (l) dimensions. All guests are encouraged to pre-book sufficient baggage weight for more savings.

Log on to 'Manage My Booking' to add more baggage weight allocation at airasia.com up to four hours before the scheduled time of departure.

It is also recommended for guests to pre-book their meals online to avoid any disappointment and ensure their preferred meals are available during their flights. Pre-booked meals are available up to 24 hours before scheduled departure time via airasia.com at the 'Manage My Booking' feature as well.
