Amanah leaders join CNY bash

Sandakan: The leaders of the Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) Sabah led by its Chairman Hamzah Abdullah joined in the Chinese New Year celebration with the Chinese community here to further strengthen the existing unity and relationship with the people.Hamzah said as a newly launched political party in Sabah, Amanah is eager to play its part in fostering greater understanding by taking part in other races' celebration."We in Amanah want to maintain religious tolerance while at the same time we urge respect towards one another's culture and belief so that we will stay united forever," he said. Hamzah, who is also Batu Sapi Amanah Chairman, said Sabahans are well-known for their openness and acceptance of other cultures and it is proven by their participation in each other's festivities such as Chinese New Year, Christmas, Hari Raya and other events.
