Kota Kinabalu: Deciding to leave his driver with a briefcase containing RM80,000 turned out to be a bad one for a 34-year-old businessman, last Thursday. The episode unfolded when the Sino Kadazan asked to be dropped off at a coffee shop in Luyang to meet a friend for breakfast, leaving the briefcase with the driver who was then told to head straight to their office in Kolombong at about 8.15am that day. After breakfast, the friend drove him to his office and he only realised that his briefcase was not there after a meeting with his project manager.

The man tried to contact his driver's handphone but the calls went unanswered despite several attempts, prompting him to return to his house where he found the vehicle his driver had used, parked at the premises. He lodged a police report at about 2.31pm the same day. City Police Chief ACP M. Chandra on Friday said they are keen on meeting a 31-year-old man, identified as Amli Amjan (pic), MyKad number 840614-12-5011, of Kolombong, to facilitate investigations.
