Kuala Lumpur: Former police commando Sirul Azhar Umar is expected to reveal the names of those conspiring against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak next week. According to an article by The Australian on Thursday, Sirul, held in Sydney's Villawood Immigration Detention Centre, would reveal the names of those who he claimed tried to bribe him into implicating the Prime Minister in the murder of Mongolian model Altantuya Shaariibuu in 2006.

The paper, quoting a Malaysian news portal editor, said a video recording would contain Sirul's confession naming those allegedly said to had offered to pay or coerce him into implicating Najib in the murder of the 28-year-old Mongolian.

Sirul had previously released three videos, apparently filmed in Villawood and leaked to a Malaysian online news portal in recent weeks.

It showed Sirul retracting his earlier allegations since he was first detained last January by Australian Immigration authorities after fleeing the country while on bail.

The Australian said in December that Sirul's Malaysian lawyers said their client had been approached through an "overseas phone call" by someone offering help, in exchange for saying "something so that the person could gain some political benefit".

Meanwhile, an online news portal yesterday reported that five names were mentioned in the alleged video confession.

In quoting a, source, the news portal said those mentioned included Umno and opposition leaders.

"I cannot tell you who they are (for now) but some big names were mentioned," the source said.

"Some of them had (allegedly) approached him directly while others through their aides or representatives.

The video will be released soon."

Last month, Sirul had, in a 55-second-long video, sworn in God's name that Najib was "in no way involved" in the murder of Altantuya in 2006.

In the first video, Sirul had said parties with "vested interests" attempted to sabotage somebody, but did not mention any names.

In the second video, Sirul revealed that Altantuya was not pregnant.

Sirul and former special action unit colleague Azilah Hadri were sentenced to death by the Federal Court for the murder of Altantuya. Sirul was, however, not present on the day the court passed judgment as he had escaped to Australia.

Australian Immigration personnel detained him on Jan 20 last year after Interpol issued a red notice.
