HM's car catches fire

Tawau: A Chinese primary school headmistress here had some scary moments when her car caught fire while heading to the school near the community hall early Thursday.The school was just few metres away when her vehicle caught fire at 6.40am but she managed to get out after smelling smoke coming from the engine.

According to the district Fire and Rescue Department Deputy Chief Faisal Ahmad, a team of firemen rushed to the scene after being alerted at 6.42am.

"Our team reached the scene located two kilometres away after two minutes and put off the fire.

'We ended the operation at 6.54am," he said, adding the car was 90 per cent burnt.

The cause of the fire and total loss are still under investigation.
