Tawau: A total of 67 people were hauled up in two separate operations on Thursday, which saw 16 further detained for being paperless.District Immigration Department Officer-In-Chief, Noraini Rasi said the first operation rounded up 34 people but only eight Filipinos were detained after being screened in the Esscom Kunak integrated operation at Kg Sungai Atas here.While in an integrated operation of the Tawau Municipal Council (TMC) here, she said a total of 33 people were held for documentation inspection but eight Philippine nationals were detained comprising three women, a baby boy and four boys.ADVERTISEMENT Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

"All the detainees were aged between five months and 60 and were picked up at both areas from 8am to 12 noon," she said, adding that a total of 57 officers and personnel were involved in the operations.Seven departments and agencies were also involved in the two operations including Immigration, police, TMC, army, Welfare Department, Health Department and National Registration Department (NRD).
