Ng promoted as Suria Capital Group MD

Kota Kinabalu: Suria Capital Holdings Berhad (Suria) announced that Madam Ng Kiat Min is its new Group Managing Director, effective April 1.Ng, 58, succeeds Datuk Dr Mohd Fowzi Haji Razi, who passed away last July. She currently chairs S.P. Satria Logistics Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Sabah Ports Sdn Bhd and is a Member of SCHB Engineering Services Sdn Bhd Board of Directors.

She holds a Degree in Accounting and Finance from the UK and is a member of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants, United Kingdom (ACCA). She is also a Chartered Accountant registered with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).

Ng joined Suria in 2001, as the Senior Manager (Corporate Development). She was instrumental in securing the core business i.e. management and operation of Sabah major ports through a privatisation exercise.

Upon the success of the privatisation, she was appointed as the General Manager (Corporate Services/Finance) for Sabah Ports Sdn Bhd (Sabah Ports) in 2004.

On June 2, 2010 she was appointed Chief Financial Officer of SuriaGroup before holding the post of Acting Group Chief Executive Officer of Suria from 29 July 2015.

Suria is confident that her experience and expertise will be invaluable to the organisation.

Suria is a Sabah-based public-listed company on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.

The company is mainly involved in the provision of port services and facilities in Sabah through its subsidiary, Sabah Ports following the privatisation exercise.

The subsidiary manages and operates eight major ports in the State.

The ports comprise Kota Kinabalu Port, Sapangar Bay Container Port, Sapangar Bay Oil Terminal, Kudat Port, Sandakan Port, Tawau Port, Lahad Datu Port and Kunak Port.

The company is also involved in providing logistics and bunkering services; as well as maintenance and supply of port equipment through subsidiaries of Sabah Ports, namely S.P. Satria Logistics Sdn Bhd and S.P. Satria Sdn Bhd respectively.

Passenger gateway operations is another business activity undertaken by Suria through its subsidiary, SCHB Engineering Services Sdn Bhd which also carries out contract and engineering works.

In recent years, Suria has diversified into property development with two major joint-venture projects in the pipeline, namely Jesselton Quay project and One Jesselton Waterfront project.
